New Tuturial for UML tool integration with classic UML metamodel
The next release of openArchitectureWare 4 will have a new tutorial that demonstrates the use of oAW with UML tool integration and the classic UML metamodel. The sample shows how to create a project based on oAW4 RC2 with a MagicDraw model, the whole workflow configuration and a simple template creating JavaBean style classes. The sample project covers basic Xpand2 programming, the use of oAW4 expressions and extensions.
The forum discussion here showed that this kind of tutorial is needed for beginners using UML tools. Until now the SCM example was recommended to start classic style projects, but often users reported problems understanding the SCM example. In fact the SCM example covers some advanced concepts of model driven development with oAW, which the new UML based tutorial does not contain. This tutorial concentrates on the basics for starting a UML model based project.

A preview of the documentation can be downloaded from our docs page on Eclipse.org. The sample project is located in CVS in the path oaw_v4/samples/samples.classic.uml.
Currently the tutorial contains all information that will enable generating code from class diagrams. The tutorial will be extended in the near future. Your feedback is welcome.
