Success Story: lohndirekt/aktiengesellschaft

As the leading company in the area of outsourcing regular payroll accounting, the lohndirekt/aktiengesellschaft is in an ongoing process of quickly and efficiently integrating services to adapt to market changes in terms of the information requirements of the customers.

This process is increasingly determined by state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies of software engineering. To guarantee the necessary performance and integrity of in-house software, the software engineers at lohndirekt/aktiengesellschaft opted for openArchitectureWare. Thanks to it's high flexibility and unmatched extensibility, the oAW Generator could stand up to it's competitors without problems.

Currently the oAW framework, in conjunction with the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF), supports the developers in the exchange of an application's persistence layer, whereby the generation of generic artefacts like POJOs, DAOs, Hibernate and Spring mapping files, webservice components etc. lies entirely in the generator's field of responsibility.

To further utilise the generator's abilities it is deployed as a website generator. A complete website containing dynamic contents is generated using reusable HTML-components. In this project the architects have also made use of a XML and EMF-model instantiator as well as of a meta model transformator. The result of this project can be viewed at www.lohndirekt.de.

Besides the mentioned projects other feelings of success have made the oAW an integral part of the developer's programming environment at lohndirekt/aktiengesellschaft. The continuing enhancement supported by the Open Source community makes it likely that oAW stays the framework of choice.
