itemis uses the openArchitectureWare in their CM3 projects.
CM3 projects are solutions wich let domainspecific languages (DSLs) move to modelling tools.

DSLs are metamodels which describe rules of concrete modelling tasks. By this metamodels itemis uses openArchitectureWare to generate domain specific plugins for modelling tools like MagicDraw UML, Poseidon, Innovator...

This causes that the architects' and designers' work will be supported by adapted specification panels and validation of the modelling guidelines.

In this case itemis successfully uses openArchitectureWare for generating Tool-Plugins containing new GUI-Elements and validation rules. itemis is especially obliged for the support of different modelling tools by oAW, so that they can offer a wide range of toolsupport, too. For the future itemis will keep an eye on version 4 especially the Wombat-Engine due to more and better support in case of domain specific modelling.
