Borland chooses oAW for GMF Implementation
The Graphical Modeling Framework (GMF) project shipped ~600K of JET-based templates in its 1.0 release, surpassing that of EMF itself. During the
development of these templates, many shortcomings of JET were realized, although some were overcome with the addition of a custom framework. A
promising alternative was found in the oAW xPand template engine, which provided much-needed features such as sub-template support with context,
polymorphism, and rich extensibility options. GMF 2.0 will replace all JET templates with xPand alternatives, providing cleaner, more sophisticated, and powerful code generation capabilities.
