FAQ: How to start with openArchitectureWare?

What do I download?

In order to get started, we recommend that you start with the example workspace. This package contains a complete Eclipse workspace which should get you up and running within minutes. You can also use this workspace as a starting point for your own projects.

If you're not an Eclipse user you can still use the workspace as a starting point. All generator-related stuff is handled through ant scripts.

How do I understand?

There are several kinds of documentations available on this site. In order to get started with the example workspace, it includes an example workspace doc pack, which you can also download seperately from our Documentation Download section. It provides a step-by-step introduction to the generator core, the example workspace as well as to the utilities and several advanced features.

And if it does not work?

At the forum you will get help quickly. Just ask.

FAQ: How to start with openArchitectureWare?

Hi!

Now that oaw 4 will be finished within a few months... what would be the best solution to start:

a) follow the path for oaw 3 and check the updates later?
b) wait until milestone 1 of oaw 4 and do the same there (example workspace)?
c) wait until milestone 1 and do something completely different?
d) wait until version 4 including the documentation?
e) something different?

What would you suggest?
